After the Removal of Multiple Teeth - Plainview, Massapequa & Levittown, NY
Multiple Extractions Require Special Care
Home Instructions After The Removal Of Multiple Teeth
The removal of many teeth at one time is quite different from the extraction of just one or two teeth. After removal of multiple teeth, it’s important for a blood clot to form to stop the bleeding and begin the healing process. Bite on a gauze pad for 30-45 minutes immediately after the appointment. After the blood clot forms it is important to not disturb or dislodge the clot.
If immediate dentures have been inserted, sore spots may develop. Your dentist may need to see you within 24-48 hours after surgery to make the necessary adjustments and relieve those sore spots. Failure to do so may result in severe denture sores, which may prolong the healing process.
REMEMBER: A clean wound heals better and faster.
